BOMproof grew out of the daily practice of machine building, offshore and process industry: the check that has to happen before every release, but that rarely gets the time.
01 Background
From practice, not from theory.
BOMproof is backed by an engineering firm that has been part of heavy machine building, offshore and process industry for over twenty years: from winches and cranes to inspection tools for pipelines, and from detail engineering to digitising drawing archives.
The same thing keeps coming back in those projects: whatever goes wrong in the workshop was already in the model, on the drawing or in the BOM. A quantity that is off, a revision that differs between drawing and model, a part that sits in the design twice. Checking takes hours, and still something slips through.
Since 2019 we have also been building software for engineers, including for managing CAD data and revisions. BOMproof is the next step: the check you want to have yourself before you release anything.

02 Mission
Every release demonstrably right. Without days of manual work.
In almost every manufacturing company the road from design to production runs through the same bottleneck: someone has to check that the model, the drawing and the BOM are correct, and then transfer that information to PDM and ERP.
That work matters, but it is repetitive: counting parts, going through positions, comparing title blocks. That is why BOMproof reads your files itself and calculates whatever can be calculated. We use AI where interpretation is needed: which BOM line belongs to which part and what a deviation means.
The result: every comment in the place where it belongs, in the model and on the drawing, and an engineer who decides on that basis.
