The errors that only show up in the workshop.
These are the deviations we come across most often in designs, drawings and BOMs. For each one it says what it is, how it comes about, how to find it and how to prevent it.
01 3D model
In the design itself.
- Error Duplicate placed parts Two instances in exactly the same spot: invisible in 3D, one line too many on the BOM.
- Caution Floating parts A part touches nothing. Misplaced, or a gasket is missing on the BOM.
- Caution No or default material Generic, Default or empty: without a real material the weight is wrong and purchasing cannot do anything with it.
- Comment Same shape, different name Two names, one shape: the same part was created twice and is bought twice.
- Caution STEP without structure Everything loose, no assemblies, no names. Usually a wrong setting when exporting.
